Yes its winter! We're still performing Marine Surveys and Sea Trials regardless of the weather. Yes, its better to do a survey when the temperatures don't make my fingers numb, but all you have to do here in Texas is wait a couple of days and its back in the 80s again! God I love this State!

100 degree dry heat

I know that we're experiencing a dry heat in late July and August, but you don't see me jumping into a bond fire either. Surveys will be done only in the early mornings until the dangers of 100 plus temperatures come back down.

Survey fees during August 2015 are $18.00 per linear foot.

I won't apologize for not writing new post material as I've been very busy helping folks survey their boats. As the area lakes fill to capacity, it seems as everyone now wants a boat. I've been busy doing a survey a day since May 1st. I'm glad to be checking boats for the safety of my clients and their needs.

It's been a busy 2014

As the 2014 Season started, I had a lot of calls to do Condition & Value (C&V) Surveys for insurance coverage, as well as a lot of Pre-Purchase Surveys for clients wanting to upgrade to a larger boat. I also did quite a few Insurance Claims for different Insurance Firms. All in all ~ I've been very busy, even to write in my blog.

The end of the 2014 boating season is coming very soon and its time to start scheduling your boat for Winterization. It's not certain how cold its going to be, but getting your engines and plumbing winterized is really cheap insurance against costly repairs!

Frozen Engine Blocks

By now in the light of recent hard freezes, you either have no engine damage because you chose to winterize your boat, had your boat in a climate controlled storage or you're on the phone with your insurance agent, pleading for repair cost coverage.

I dare say, the worst of the cold is not over. Judging by the winter weather in Dallas (in which I was iced-in for a couple of days), quite a few insurance claims will be coming from that part of Texas. Keep that boat winterized or if you are lucky enough to have gone unscathed by the first Arctic Blast - HAVE YOUR BOAT WINTERIZED NOW!

It's Going to Be Cold this Winter!

Winter is coming in waves of VERY COLD Arctic blasts from the north. I highly recommend having your boat professionally WINTERIZED this season to avoid frozen engine blocks and exhaust manifolds.
